Schroeder: West is not always right about Russia

The West does not always adhere to the correct line in relations with Russia, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said in an interview with Bild.

"You have to understand that there are certain fears on the part of the Russian Federation, which need to be responded to by the Russian president. That is why the way the West treats Russia is not always right," TASS cited him as saying."As for Ukraine, they speak all the time about tightening or extending the sanctions against Moscow. Why do Western politicians not put the question like this: 'Can we ease sanctions or withdraw them if there will be progress on the Ukrainian issue?" Schroeder said.
