Chairwoman of Russia's Federation Council advocates traditional families

Valentina Matviyenko, the chairwoman of Russia's Federation Council, has reminded that the Russian Family Code stipulates that the traditional family consists of one wife, one husband and children, Interfax reports.
In her words, traditional values and families needed protection.


Magomed Daudov, the head of the Chechen Leader's Administration, proposed legalization of polygamy on May 18, calling it a common practice in the Caucasus. He later denied ever making such a proposal to the State Duma.
