Russian communists to monitor ethics in media

The Russian Communist Party has proposed the formation of a special structure that would monitor ethical standards in the media. A related bill has been introduced to the State Duma. In the communists' opinion, it would help combat the 'stereotypes of Western pseudo-culture.'

The members of the structure would be approved by the State Duma and the Federation Council. The organization would be subordinate to the lower house. It will consist of public officials endorsed by the president, government, Federation Council, heads of parliamentary parties and traditional religious organizations, TASS reports.

The authors of the initiative claim that the stream of propaganda of violence, cruelty, vulgarity, lechery and crime has recently grown.
