Russia's Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, and Syria’s Ambassador to Moscow, Riad Haddad, have discussed the settlement of the Syrian crisis.
"The two sides exchanged viewpoints on the need to provide suitable conditions to reach a political settlement in Syria through an inter-Syrian dialogue in light of the Geneva communiqué of June 2012. A speedy normalization of the situation in Syria and overcoming the crisis would meet the interests of security and peace in the Middle East," RIA Novosti cited a Russian Foreign Ministry statement.
