Slovakia: Ukrainian authorities badly inform citizens about ongoing reforms in the country

Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak, on the basis of negotiations in Kiev, said that Ukraine's population is very poorly informed by the authorities about the nature and need for reforms in the country.

"I'm not sure that there is a clear concept of Ukrainian reforms ... I got an impression that it is not clear in Kiev who is responsible for what. But to me it is clear, and the current visit to Kiev has convinced me that there is not the necessary communication with citizens,"  the head of the Foreign Ministry stressed.

According to him, people in Ukraine feel the negative effects of the reforms, but they did not explain sufficiently why this or that happens. "The experience of Slovakia shows that half of the success of reforms depends on how people understand and perceive their essence and necessity," the minister said.
