Medvedev: the government's goal is for people to live normally

The most important goal of the Russian government is for "people in the country to live normally, humanly... the way people live today in developed countries," Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev stated.

At the same time, he stressed that the government is ready to work for another three years. "The current composition of the government is ready to work. Moreover, I want to say that after all of these years, the government has been developed as a team, as a group of people who try to achieve very important goals for our country," he said, referring to the intention to continue to work remaining before the planned resignation of the government for three years in his place.

Medvedev also said that the government does not occur by itself, as a result of the president's decision. "The prime minister is only offering the government to the president. While the president trusts the government, the government is working. It is the same all over the world. It seems absolutely normal," he said.

Medvedev drew attention to the fact that last year was one of the most difficult periods for the government, but also noted good demographics in the country. According to him, last year Russia's population increased by 33 thousand people. "This, I believe, is a very good result, because like in a drop of water it reflects all our work," the prime minister said.
