Ali Larijani re-elected as Iran’s parliamentary speaker

Ali Larijani was elected as the speaker of Iran’s parliament for the next four years by getting 205 out of 263 votes cast.


According to IRNA news agency, another candidate, Rohollah Hosseinian, received 36, while 22 lawmakers abstained.


Ali Larijani has been Iran’s parliamentary speaker since 2008, Trend reports.
