NATO's position towards Georgia's membership has not changed, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington DC.
"I cannot say more than what has already been said many times before," RIA Novosti cited him as saying.
Stoltenberg said that Georgia’s aspiration to NATO was accepted at the Bucharest summit in 2008 and approved at the Wales summit in 2014.
According to him, the sides have been conducting joint programs aimed at improving Georgia’s self-defense capacity and regional stability. In addition, Stoltenberg said that the alliance gives a high assessment to Georgia’s participation in many operations.
