Moscow does not intend to break ties with Washington but it will only work with the United States in areas of mutual interest, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"Obviously, we are not refusing to cooperate. But we will promote cooperation not because they want closer ties in this or that particular area but because those areas are of interest to us," RIA Novosti cited Lavrov as saying.
