Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded the Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO), Sheikh ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh, a Certificate of Merit.
Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin presented the Certificate of Merit to Pashazade.
Pashazade said that Azerbaijan and Russia have strong friendly relations.
"We have done everything possible to prevent the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict from turning into a religious war," Interfax-Azerbaijan cited him as saying.
