Tokyo and EU won't accept Crimea's return to Russia

Japan and the European Union do not intend to recognize the annexation of the Crimea by Russia, according to a statement following the 23rd Summit between Japan and the European Union.


"We remain determined never to recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, and will continue to support the government of Ukraine to advance its reforms," TASS cited the document.


The event was attended by the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, and the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker.
