A Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko, Mustafa Nye, has said that former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has received Ukrainian citizenship.
"Mikheil Saakashvili officially became a citizen of Ukraine," the deputy wrote on his page in Facebook, RIA Novosti reported.
Another deputy of the Rada from the Poroshenko Bloc, Sergei Leshchenko, confirmed this information in his microblog on Twitter.
"Former Georgian President Saakashvili successfully obtained citizenship of Ukraine on Friday. Miho, we want a new Batumi! ... I met Saakashvili earlier this week. He is full of energy to help Ukraine," Leshchenko wrote.
