He approved a formal statement of the Georgian Foreign Ministry in connection with this event. "Now the chances of Saakashvili's extradition to Georgia are equal to zero, he because he is no longer a citizen of our country. The Foreign Minister did the right thing. I criticize the government very much, but I support the tolerant attitude towards the actions of the Ukrainian authorities and the president, who was clearly misled. Because the main thing is the relationship between our nations," Peter Mamradze concluded.
The head of the Center for Security Studies and International Relations of Georgia, Nika Chitadze, said that "the Foreign Ministry's official statement means that Tbilisi puts inter-state relations and the national interests of Georgia higher than the personal factor of Mr. Saakashvili. Given the coincidence of interests of Georgia and Ukraine, at this point I agree with the statement of the Georgian Foreign Ministry that the relations between the two countries will not deteriorate," the expert said.
Political analyst Mamuka Areshidze also noted that Tbilisi prefers not to put personal interests above politics. "If the Ministry of Foreign Affairs made such a statement, it means that the government decided that it is pointless to spoil relations with Ukraine because of a person who left Georgian politics," he suggested.
