One of the main national holidays - Day of the Republic - is celebrated on June 4 in Ingushetia. This is the day of the proclamation of the Republic of Ingushetia on June 4th, 1992 as a subject of the Russian Federation.
Ingush Leader Yunus-bek Yevkurov congratulated the residents of the Republic. "This day is the starting point of a new stage in the historical development of the Ingush people. Ingushetia today is among the fastest growing regions of the country. All these years, the multinational peoples of Ingushetia have created the spiritual and intellectual potential to ensure the stable development of our country," the official website of the Republic cited his message.
"Ingushetia holds a very important place in the social life of the Russian Federation, makes a significant contribution to its socio-economic well-being. The Republic is included in the top 20 most successfully developing regions of the Russian Federation rightfully in the last 3 years," Yevkurov said.
"I would like to thank those who stood at the origins of the Republic. Today, we can say with confidence that your work was not in vain, Ingushetia is a successful region of Russia," he added.
"I wish all Ingush people health and well-being, and I wish our unique, beautiful land peace and prosperity! Happy birthday, Ingushetia!" Yunus-bek Yevkurov concluded.
