Randa Kassis, president and founder of the Movement of the Pluralistic Society, said today that the Syrian opposition will gather for another round of talks in Astana in mid-September. She said the UN Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, will be invited to the talks, RIA Novosti reports.
Syrian opposition groups held talks in Astana on May 25-27, concluding it with a document urging all foreign militants to leave the country. The document emphasized the need to form a united front to combat terrorism. Six participants refused to sign the document.
