In 32 communities of 5 regions of Armenia (Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Shirak, Armavir, Tavush) elections to local authorities are being held today.
Most of the candidates are either Republicans or sharing their support. The only exceptions are two members of the Prosperous Armenia party and one member of the ARF ‘’Dashnaktsutyun."
The most tense struggle is expected in the special election for mayor of Abovyan, where, for example, the Union of Yerkrapah Volunteers (DCE) supports 2 of the 5 candidates. The regional structure of the DCE supports Vahagn Gevorgyan, the structure of Abovyan supports Artur Harutyunyan, who left the ranks of the Republican Party.
