PACE's subcommittee on Nagorny Karabakh renews it's work this month

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is renewing the
work of its subcommittee on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict this month,
Trend reports, citing Movlud Chavushoglu, the assembly's chairman, on
his arrival in Baku.

According to Chavushoglu, representatives from Azerbaijan and Armenia
- Samed Seidov and David Arutiun - will meet in April. After that the
work of the subcommittee, halted due to the death of Lord
Russell-Johnston, formerly head of the subcommittee, will be
continued.

The subcommittee's work was to be restarted in March. However, this
was put off due to incomplete participation of all sides and the
absence of the Armenian delegation at the meeting, Chavushoglu said.
He is on his first official visit to Azerbaijan after his appointment
to the post last year.

"Our aim is to resolve these fossilized conflicts and assist in
solving the problems between the countries [members of PACE]. That is
why I am going to Armenia after visiting Azerbaijan", - Chavushoglu
told journalists. He will discuss the Armenian-Azerbaijani
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict both in Baku and Yerevan, then he is heading
to Russia. PACE fully encourages the work of the Minsk group of the
OSCE in solving the Armenian-Azerbaijan conflict.
