First BRICS parliamentary forum to be held in Moscow

The first parliamentary forum of BRICS is opening in Moscow on Monday. It will bring together more than 100 participants - heads and members of BRICS top legislative bodies of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, who may start the establishment of the BRICS Parliamentary Assembly.


The forum’s plenary meeting will consist of two sessions and will be led by speakers of the upper and lower houses of parliament - the Federation Council and the State Duma - Valentina Matviyenko and Sergey Naryshkin, TASS reports.


During the first session, BRICS parliamentarians are expected to focus on international security and economic development.


The second part of the meeting will be dedicated to the development of parliamentary changes in BRICS.
