Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan’s son, Argam Abrahamyan, who was the sole remaining candidate in the election race in Artashat, has been elected mayor of the city.
According to the Central Electoral Commission, he received 10,013 votes. A total of 10,401 people from the 21,013 eligible voters in Artashat cast their ballots.
Hovhannes Ghazaryan and Garegin Ambartsumian had also submitted their candidacies for the post of Mayor of Artashat, but shortly thereafter they voluntarily quit the mayoral race, Armenia Today reports.
