President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon held a meeting with Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian.
The head of state said during a meeting that Tajikistan is satisfied with the growing trend of economic ties between the two countries, Tajik Agency Khovar reports.
It was emphasized during the meeting that more than 150 Iranian companies are operating in Tajikistan.
Trade turnover between the two countries in 2014 hit $228 million (4.3% of Tajikistan’s foreign trade).
Moreover, the sides expressed confidence that the Iranian side, using the combined experience of the construction of Sangtuda-2, would take on more projects in Tajikistan.
During their meeting, the two officials stressed the implementation of mutual contracts between Iran and Tajikistan, Trend reports.
