Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin, who will pay a visit to Azerbaijan on June 12-13, will attend the opening ceremony of the First European Games.
On June 12 Putin is expected to meet with the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach. Putin will hold a private meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on June 13. The meeting will focus on the ongoing negotiations over the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The Russian president also plans to meet his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, TASS reports.
