The governor of the Odessa region, Mikhail Saakashvili, has announced plans to construct a ferry line and logistics centers for the delivery of goods from Asia to Europe bypassing Russia.
According to him, it takes only nine days to transport cargo to Odessa through Azerbaijan and Poti.
"To redirect the business here, first of all it is necessary to reduce costly transportation tariffs. Secondly, we need ferries and logistics centers," RIA Novosti cited Saakashvili as saying.
According to the governor of Odessa, the same investors are ready to invest in the construction of the ferry line in the city.
