President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev has spoken in favor of stopping all military conflicts at the plenary session of the 5th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
He suggested including an appeal "which reflects the pain and hopes of billions of people all over the world, into the Congress’ final statement". "Forceful methods of solving any political contradictions should be decisively rejected in any country and interstate relations," RIA Novosti cited him as saying.
President called for a cessation to all military conflicts and announcements of truces. "All conflicting parties must sit down at the negotiating table and develop an agreement on ceasing violence, defending peaceful citizens, and peacefully solve all disagreements," he said. "Kazakhstan serves as a platform for conflicting parties to reconcile," Nazarbayev said.
"It is important to call on political leaders of all leading powers to stop spreading distrust in the modern world. Those mutual sanctions have to be stopped, they affect third countries and ordinary people," he stressed.
