The presidents of Iran and Iraq, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Jalal
Talabani, have had a telephone conversation, Trend reports, citing the
Iranian state agency IRNA.
The sides discussed the expansion of bilateral and multilateral ties.
The Iranian president expressed satisfaction with the state of ties
between Tehran and Baghdad and expressed hope that they will have more
political and economic cooperation.
The president of Iraq also urged more cooperation in all spheres and
expressed a desire to visit Tehran after the forming of a new Iraqi
government.
The two presidents also exchanged views on key regional and
international problems.
