U.S., Turkish presidents discuss Congress resolution on ‘Armenian genocide’

The U.S. and Turkish presidents have spoken about the upcoming discussion by the House Committee on Foreign Affairs of a resolution on the issue of “the Armenian genocide.”
 
The APA news agency said that during their telephone conversation, Turkish President Abdulla Gul told his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama that Congress’s resolution had the potential to seriously damage bilateral relations. The two leaders also discussed regional issues and wider issues in bilateral ties, the news agency said.
