Baku is considering the possibility of simplifying the procedures for
issuing visas to Israelis, which will allow them to process visas at
the capital's airport, reports Izrus.co.il reports.
A telephone conversation on this topic took place between the heads of
the diplomatic departments of two countries. The Head of the
Department for Central Europe and Eurasia, Pinhas Avivi, said that Tel
Aviv is now awaiting an answer from Baku about a possible solution to
a problem.
The termination of issuing visas to foreigners entering Azerbaijan at
Baku's Heydar Aliyev airport on the 15th of October raised concerns
on the part of the Israelis. There is no Azerbaijani embassy in Tel
Aviv, and this innovation makes ordinary Israelis and businessmen
interested in visiting Azerbaijan, rather than travel for two days to
Amman or Ankara for a visa.
