Powerful explosive device defused in Chechen capital

A powerful explosive device has been defused in Grozny, Itar-Tass was
informed by the law-enforcement bodies of the Chechen Republic. It was
discovered yesterday on Dagestan Street in the Leninsky district of
the city, 70 meters from the National Theatre and Concert Hall.

"The bomb was in a metal box and consisted of a plastic canister
filled with 6 kg of TNT, with damaging elements in the form of pieces
of reinforcement, bolts, nuts, and a mobile phone," the law
enforcement bodies reported.

The bomb was taken to a safe location and destroyed.
