Suspects confess to Baksan hydroelectric power station blast

The Russian Interior Ministry and Federal Security Service have
detained members of illegal armed groups suspected of an act of
sabotage at a power plant in Baksan, in the North Caucasus
Kabardino-Balkaria. They have already confessed and named their
accomplices, RIA Novosti reports, referring to a spokesman for the
Investigation Committee, Vladimir Markin.

The attack on the Baksan hydroelectric power station in
Kabardino-Balkaria occurred on the 21st of July 2010. The attackers
killed two policemen guarding the station and attached five improvised
explosive devices, ranging from 1.5 to 3 kilograms of TNT. Explosions
were followed by a fire and caused damage to three generators of the
station.
