Russian General Staff chief to attend EU Military Committee meeting The chief of the Russian General Staff, Army General Nikolai Makarov, will take part in a meeting of the EU Military Committee in Brussels
on Wednesday, RIA Novosti reports.

"During the meeting, the chief of the Russian General Staff will hold a speech on reforming the Russian Armed Forces and an opportunity to expand cooperation with EU member countries on maintaining peace and providing security on the European continent," the press service of Russian Defence Ministry said.

After the meeting, Makarov is expected to return to Moscow.
