Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President Abdullah Gul have condemned the suicide bombing near Istanbul's Taksim Square on Sunday, in which 32 people were injured, Trend reports, referring to the Anadolu news agency. Erdogan vowed that Turkey's peace, stability and security would not be breached, and that unity and development would continue to be the country's aims. President Gul expressed his condolences to the victims of the attack.
The Turkish intelligence agencies are investigating possible accomplices of the dead bomber. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin expressed shock and offered support to his Turkish counterpart.
