Azerbaijan to use electronic election system at parliamentary elections

The Azerbaijani information and computing center of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies has presented the electronic voting system to non-governmental organizations for the coming parliamentary elections, Trend reports, citing the ministry.


The new system will allow Internet voting using the PIN code of a personal card. The system guarantees anonymity.


Requests from NGOs are accepted from October 30 to November 2 from 10.00 to 18.00 at Uzeir Gadzhibekov Street, 36. Electronic forms are available at www.rabita.az.


Electoral commissions will have non-break telephone and Internet lines. Web-cameras will be used in some electoral districts. The voting process can be observed online.


Information from each electoral station will be sent to district electoral commissions and then to information center "Elections" The voting process will have a state automatic information system "Elections". It consists of sending information to electoral commissions and automatization of the administrator of the information center. Its main functions are reflection of the voting process, introduction of protocols to the database of computers, introduction of the names of deputies and political parties to the computer, conclusion of protocols of distrrict electoral commissions.


Azerbaijan will hold parliamentary elections on November 7.
