Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin spoke on the telephone with Kurmanbek Bakiyev and met with the vice-premier of the Kyrgyz provisional government Almazbek Atambayev, reports RIA Novosti citing the press service of the Russian government.
The telephone conversation took place late in the evening on Wednesday at the initiative of Bakiyev. On April 6-7, mass riots spread throughout Kyrgyzstan . The opposition came to power and formed the provisional government. The new authorities require Bakiyev to resign presidency.
