Georgia becomes strategic partner of the EU in energy supply

At an international conference in Brussels, dedicated to developing the Georgian energy sector, it was emphasised that georgia is a strategic partner for the EU in the sphere of energy, Georgian prime minister Nika Gilauri told "Rustavi-2", Business Georgia reports.


Gilauri informed the conference about the reforms in the country's energy sector. According to him, the first direction in the
partnership is to build a large quantity of hydroelectric power stations to export electricity through Turkey to the EU, and the second direction is gas transit to the European Union, arguing that diversification of gas supply is a priority for the EU. The Georgian premier said that the Nabucco and White Stream projects were considered at the conference.
