OSCE, PACE monitors praise Azerbaijani parliamentary polls

The head of the long-term mission of the OSCE PA Wolfgang Grossruck
said that Azerbaijani parliamentary elections deserve a positive
rating. The monitoring mission of OSCE PA took into account the great
efforts of the authorities to provide a just election process.

Grossruck said that they did not register any incidents. He pointed
out the large number of parties taking part at the elections. The
mission's head noted that the Central Electoral Commission had good
technical equipment. The OSCE mission held monitoring in approximately
90% of the polling stations.

The head of the PACE monitoring mission Paul Wille said in Baku on
Monday that the parliamentary elections were held according to all
international standards. He said that this allows Azerbaijan to be
considered a democratic country.

Paul Wille's short-term monitoring mission consists of 30 people. They
were monitoring the process in various regions of Azerbaijan. The new
PACE co-reporter for Azerbaijan Pedro Agramunt and special OSCE
reporter for political prisoners Christof Strasser are part of the
