The CIS and Russia are interested in settling the Armenian-Azerbaijani
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Executive Secretary of the CIS, Sergey
Lebedev, said in Baku, Trend reports.
He also reminded journalists that the Armenian, Azerbaijani and
Russian presidents had a recent meeting in Astrakhan. They agreed to
exchange the bodies of military servicemen, supported by the OSCE,
which is the first step in rapprochement of the sides. They are
currently discussing the freeing of the occupied territories, and the
establishment of a corridor between Azerbaijan and Nakhchyvan,
Karabakh and Armenia.
On Saturday Armenia transported the bodies of Azerbaijani servicemen
Mubariz Ibragimov and Farid Ahmedov. Azerbaijan returned the body of
Manvel Sarybekyan to Armenia. Earlier Armenia had released an
Azerbaijani citizen, Eldar Tagiyev.
