Georgia may get new Electoral code

During today's discussions in parliament, the Georgian opposition was promised that all proposals on improving the electoral environment would be examined, the leader of the "New Rightists", David Gamkrelidze, told journalists, Trend reports.
He said that today's meeting gave grounds to expect that work on a new electoral code would begin.

"All qualified political subjects are welcome to join us. All meetings will be open. Society has to know what we agree on," Gamkrelidze said. The parliamentary speaker, David Bakradze, was also satisfied with the results of the discussions. He noted that, as a result of the discussions, an Electoral Code of "a new type" could be approved.
Today it was agreed that discussions will be held every week.

Representatives of international and nongovernmental organizations will participate in them.
The next meeting will take place at the Central Electoral Committee on Monday.
