Opposition blocked the Rustavelli Avenue in Tbilisi for half an hour

Georgian opposition, holding a meeting in Tbilisi in front of the country’s parliament, blocked all transport for half an hour on Rustavelli Avenue, Gazeta.ru reports.

Almost all non-parliament opposition representatives, including Nino Burjanadze and Levan Gachechiladze participated in the meeting. The protester had two primary claims to the country’s government: to stop persecution of citizens for political reasons, and release all political prisoners since 16th April.

According to protestors, if the government refuses to fulfill their demands, the protest action will become higher-scale and permanent.
