Georgia to open conference on coping with poverty

Tbilisi will host a regional conference for developing approaches to
stable management of land resources in order to reduce soil
degradation and for coping with poverty on November 18-19, according
to the Caucasus Regional ecologic center, the organizer of the
conference.


The main goal of the conference is to unite countries, experts and
media officials to exchange experience and achievements within the
project and to focus on the main trends in achieving the best results
and stability for the project.


The project involves continuation of the functioning of ecosystems,
reduction of poverty, food security and farmers’ income in the South
Caucasus by preventing desertification and strengthening the natural
resource base and activation of agriculture.


The conference will be held in the Sheraton Metekhi Palace.


Officials of the Environment Ministry, legislative structures,
government structures related with land management, international
organizations, donor-organizations, NGOs, academic spheres, business
sector, local communities and other interested figures of Azerbaijan,
Armenia and Georgia will take part in the conference.
