President of Kirgizstan Kurmanbek Bakiev, removed from the post by the interim government, left the country today. He signed the resignation document, RIA Novosti reports, citing a source in the interim government. “Yes, Bakiev resigned before leaving the country”, - the interviewee said.
Mass unrest started in Kirgizstan 6th April, spreading throughout the whole country on the next day. 84 people were killed, over 1500 people were wounded in collisions between law-enforcers and opposition. Today Bakiev’s plane landed in the airport of Taraz, south of Kazakhstan. The president’s schedule in the country remains unknown.
