Turkeyand Turkmenistan will develop cooperation in the purchase and
transport of natural gas, Turkish President Abdullah Gul said at the
negotiations with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov,
ITAR-TASS reports.
According to Gul, Turkey expects to conclude a deal with Ashkhabad to
pump Turkmen gas through the Nabucco pipeline. He urged Turkish
businessmen to invest in the Turkmen economy, including in the
industrial sector. Berdimuhamedov pointed out that in 2009 trade
turnover between the two countries exceeded $2.2 billion, and in the
first nine months of this year it exceeded $2.3 billion.
