PACE meeting in Antalya
Meetings of the Presidential Committee, the Bureau and the Standing Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) have taken place in Antalya, Turkey, after the country took over the chairmanship of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers, Trend reports.

In the framework of the activities organized, Turkish Foreign Minister Professor Ahmet Davutoglu and PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu held a joint press conference.

The Turkish Foreign Minister stressed the point that Turkey is an essential part of Europe and that the country is going to play an important role in European policy and continue the process of entering the EU.


On taking the chairmanship of the Strasbourg-based Council of Europefor six months, Turkey said it has set five priorities in order to make the 61-year-old European body more visible and more active.


"Turkey's chairmanship will make every effort to put the Council of Europe back on the international scene as an innovative, more flexible and feasible organization so that it can adapt itself to the changing political landscape," Professor Davuto&glu has said during handover ceremony, Hurriyet reports.
