North Caucasus republics have high employment rates

The official level of unemployment in Russia in the first 8 months
rose by 0.2% to 1.526 million, the Russian Ministry of Healthcare and
Social Development told RIA Novosti.


The ministry said that it is a seasonal factor, which is common for
autumn. From October 28 to November 4, 2009, the rate was 0.3%.
In the same period the number of unemployed dropped in 34 regions of
Russia, especially in Kaliningrad and Tambov Regions, North Ossetia
(Alania), Adygeya, Kabardino-Balkaria, Chuvash and Chechen Republics.


Unemployment growth was registered in 46 regions, including the Jewish
Autonomous Province, Chukot Autonomous Region, Sakhalin Region,
Kamchatsk Territory. The employment in the Altai territory, Buryat
republic and Voronezh Region did not change.


Since early 2008 redundancies reached 1.434 million. 429,200 people
have been re-employed, including 229,900 back to the organizations
they were dismissed from.
