North Caucasus District court accuses local oil companies of price fixing

The Federal Arbitration Court of the North Caucasus District confirmed
the decision of the Department of the Russian Federal Antimonopoly
Service in Stavropol Territory, accusing oil companies of fixing
prices for gas and diesel fuel in 2007, RIA Novosti reports, citing
the head of the department Sergey Nikitin.


The court will renew the case of Rosneft Stavropolye (25.9 million
rubles) and LUKOIL Yugneftproduct (49.1 million rubles), specialist of
the Federal Antimonopoly Service Dmitry Sapunov said.


On December 21, 2007, the service considered the facts of violating
the law on competitor protection by LUKOIL-Yugneftproduct and Rosneft
Stavropolye.


The two companies tried to appeal the decision in the Court of Appeal.
