United Russia deputy Alexander Khinshtein did not seriously consider a proposal of the Acting Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin, who offered to appoint him to the post of deputy chairman of the Committee in charge of the North Caucasus Federal District.
According to RIA Novosti, on November 15, during the discussion of thedraft law "On the Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation" Khinshtein sharply criticized the introduced bill. In response, the deputy head Bastrykin offered him the chance to head the security service of the Investigative Committee, but Khinshtein replied that "deputy mandate is dearer to him", and left the meeting.
However, today Bastrykin offered him the post of the deputy chairman of the Committee in charge of the North Caucasus Federal District. Khinshtein replied that he is ready to work in a place where he can bring some good to the country, but "it is doubtful that working together with Bastrykin meets this criteria".
