Alexander Khloponin appointed co-chairman of the Russian-Azerbaijani Committee on Economic Cooperation

The prime minister of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, has appointed the vice-premier of the RF, plenipotentiary presidential envoy to the North Caucasian Federal District Alexander Khloponin, to the position of chairman of the Russian part of the Inter-governmental Committee on Economic Cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan, instead of the minister of energy Sergey Shmatko, RIA Novosti reports.

The appointment was signed by Putin on the 12th of November. Shmatko had been chairman of the Russian part of the Committee since 2008.
