Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has had a meeting with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the Caspian summit in Baku, RIA Novosti reports.
Medvedev’s assistant Sergey Prikhodko had said earlier that Medvedev and Ahmdainejad were to discuss the nuclear program of Tehran.
Relations between the two countries worsened after Russia joined the UN SC sanctions against Iran introduced in June and then cancelled shipment of S-300 missile complexes to Iran.
Medvedev and Ahmadinejad had open talks, they avoided complicated questions, a source in the Kremlin told RIA Novosti.
