Georgia has not allowed the Russian consul in the country to meet the Russian citizens charged with espionage, the deputy director of the media department of the Foreign ministry, Alexei Sazonov, said, reports RIA Novosti.
"But Russia still insists on a meeting between the consul and the Russian citizens as prescribed by the 5 article of the Vienna convention on consul relations," he said.
He dismissed reports that the Russian consul had already met with the detained Russian citizens.
