The CIS council of heads of governments is holding a session on
November 19. Over 20 document projects are being viewed.
22 projects are aimed at further improvement in cooperation between
the CIS in the economic, humanitarian and security spheres.
The heads of governments will also view the project on
inter-government aims of innovative cooperation of the CIS states
until 2020 and the project on cooperating in protecting human and copy
rights.
Head of the CIS Executive Committee Lebedev noted that they will
consider the project of basic trends of medical and social aid
development and improvement of the veterans' and their families'
quality of life until 2015.
The council will work on using assignations for development of the
joint anti-missile defences of the CIS of 2009 and financing in 2011.
The session is expected to pass a plan of priority measures in
humanitarian cooperation for 2011-2012. The document was developed
with account of the Year of Historical and Cultural Heritage in 2011
and the Year of Sports and Healthy Life in 2012.
Russian Premier Minister Vladimir Putin said at the opening of the
session that the CIS society keeps improving ties. The trade turnover
in the first 8 months rose by 30%, compared with the same period last
year.
The EurAsEC will also hold a session of the inter-government council,
in form of the High Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
At the session the sides plan to pass four documents that form the
basis of the union: a protocol on adjustments to the union on sanitary
measures; a protocol on adjustments to veterinary-sanitary measures; a
protocol on adjustments to the agreement on quarantine of plants of
December 10, 2009, adopted on May 21, 2010; agreement on the
secretariat of the Commission of the Customs Union.
Participants of the session will also discuss the concept of
establishing an integrated information system of exterior and interior
trade of the union and will hear information on the process of
realizing formation of the Single Economic Space.
