Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has approved the decision to build a large Islamic complex and a congregational mosque in the capital of Ingushetia, Magas, the yuga.ru news portal reports.
"I think that this initiative should be supported. We should find ways to implement it," the Ingush government press service quoted Putin as saying.
The grand Islamic center is being built on the decision of Ingushetia’s president, Yunus-bek Yevkurov, and the republic’s Muslim Spiritual Administration. The main object of the complex will be the congregational mosque.
It will also include an Islamic university, a dormitory for students, the headquarters of the Muslim Spiritual Administration of the republic, a hotel and the shopping center "Halal".
To realize the project the special fund "Azan" has been set up along with an account for making donations for implementation of its chartered activities.
