In St. Petersburg, a regular meeting of the Council of the Heads of Government of the CIS countries has finished its work. According to the report of the Executive Committee of the CIS, the agenda of the meeting included 23 draft documents aimed at further development of cooperation between CIS countries in the economic and humanitarian spheres and security, Trend reports.
A significant number of the questions discussed belonged to the economic sphere. In particular, the participants of the meeting reviewed the draft of the Treaty on a Free Trade Zone, which should replace over a hundred existing agreements and eliminate many of the remaining barriers to mutual trade.
